Canopic Jars, 2014, stoneware, pigments
Canopic jars were traditionally used to house organs extracted during the mummification process that were deemed unnecessary for the afterlife. These canopic jars are painted with imagery taken from my childhood, + photos I took in Tahrir Square towards the end of the Arab Spring.
